The Custom Electronic Designers and Installers Association (CEDIA) is a 25-year-old organization serving residential-technology companies. CEDIA won an Exhibit Design Award (Bronze) from Exhibitor Magazine for its 2015 custom trade show exhibit at its own show.
Pentagram SF Inc. designed the 40x50 sq. ft. space, while Exhibitus and Shepherd were tasked with fabrication and installation of this dramatic, 20-foot high, structure. According to an article in Exhibitor Magazine, “This metaphorical design placed CEDIA in the center of the industry it serves by framing the booth itself as if it were a stage.”
Four archways hinted at scenic flats that might bracket the stage of a theatre, each one 20-feet high and spanning the entire width and depth of the booth. To create a sense of energy, a row of lighting at the top of each portal was programmed to cast colors mimicking whatever was being played on the four 10-by-18 foot video walls below.
