Dedicated to the Memory and Spirit of a Boy Who Made a Difference
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) 30 July 2015 – As part of Exhibitus’ commitment to give back to the community, Exhibitus is proud to support a deserving cause close to home.
It all started with a boy named Markus Slack who was treated at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston for cancer. With the mature understanding that he wanted to make a difference while he still could, Markus asked his parents for a final wish – to give all of his toys to his fellow cancer patients so that they may smile and enjoy them as he did. Not only did his parents John and Kim fulfill his wish, they have been doing so for the past 17 years.
Tony Bugg, Warehouse Manager at Exhibitus, was deeply moved by the cause and has hosted a golf tournament for the past 10 years to help ensure that Markus’ wish is realized every Valentine’s Day. This year’s tournament takes place Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 at Reunion Country Club near Atlanta and is now accepting golfer registrations.
“Since both my wife and I are cancer survivors, this is a very touching, personal event that we love to support. All proceeds of the golf tournament benefit the Have-A-Heart Toy Drive, which delivers toys to children who require long-term care at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite & Egleston Hospitals,” said Bugg. “It’s an amazing feeling to watch the smiles on all the kids and parents faces; it makes you want to cry – and sometimes we do.”
“At Exhibitus, we believe that giving back to the community is vital to the well-being of our employees and is reflected in our company core values,” said Brad Falberg, President of Exhibitus. “We have been touched by the positive impact of Markus’ wish on so many young lives and are honored to donate resources and time to support the Have-A-Heart Charity Golf Tournament.
